A Bosphorus breakfast cruise is a private boat charter that runs in the early morning, usually between 08:00 and 11:00, with breakfast served on board while the yacht follows the strait between Europe and Asia. The defining difference from a scheduled group cruise is control: your group is the only one on board, the departure time is set around your morning rather than a printed timetable, and the route can linger wherever you want to stay longer.

Most breakfast charters run two to three hours — long enough for the classic stretch from Kabataş up to the second bridge and back with an unhurried meal. Because pricing is hourly, you decide how long the morning on the water lasts, and many guests extend to four hours in summer to add a swimming stop before the day heats up.

The classic spread that covers the table: white cheese and aged kaşar, black and green olives, honey with clotted kaymak, tomato, cucumber, seasonal jams, simit and fresh bread, menemen or fried eggs, and endless tea from the samovar.

Continental & Light Breakfast

Pastries, croissants, cold cuts, cheeses, fruit, yoghurt with granola, fresh juice and filter coffee — the usual choice for guests who prefer something lighter before a full day of sightseeing.

Mixed Table & Special Diets

A combined Turkish and continental table works best for larger mixed groups. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free versions of every breakfast are available with advance notice.

Unlike a per-person ticket, a private breakfast cruise is priced per boat per hour, so the cost per guest falls as your group grows. Rates start at €85 per hour for a 14–15 metre yacht carrying up to eight guests, and the minimum charter is generally two hours. Breakfast catering is quoted separately once you choose the menu style.

Spring (April – May)

The finest mornings of the year. Judas trees turn the hillsides purple in April, the air is cool but not cold, and the water is usually flat enough to eat on deck without holding your plate.

Summer (June – August)

Early departures beat the heat entirely — at 08:00 the strait is fresh, the light is gentle and you are back on land before the city warms up. A swimming stop can be added on the way home.

Autumn (September – November)

Warm water, low mist over the strait at sunrise and the fewest boats of the season. September and October mornings are the photographers favourite.

Winter (December – March)

Crisp, bright mornings between the rain, with breakfast served in the heated salon and the Bosphorus almost entirely empty. The lowest rates of the year fall in this window.

Birthdays and anniversaries lead the list, but breakfast charters are also the favourite format for families travelling with small children, who are wide awake early and tired by afternoon. The calm morning water suits anyone worried about seasickness, and grandparents get a comfortable seat indoors with the same views.

Corporate breakfast meetings work particularly well: a team of twelve fits easily on a mid-size yacht, the deck doubles as a meeting space and everyone is back at the office by mid-morning. Larger boats handle wedding-morning breakfasts and group celebrations for 70 to 300 guests.

Private charters board wherever suits your group best. Kabataş is the most common pier, sitting on the T1 tram and F1 funicular lines — about 20 minutes from Sultanahmet and three minutes from Taksim. Bebek and Kuruçeşme are the usual alternatives for guests staying in Beşiktaş, Nişantaşı or the northern districts.

Your confirmation names the exact pier with a map pin, and the crew is on the quay 15 minutes before departure. Door-to-pier transfer can be arranged on request for most central hotels, and the yacht can return to a different pier from the one you boarded at if that suits your day better.
